There are so many things we like about this building: its cedarwood exterior (whose curved shape has led to it being dubbed ‘the Pringle’, in homage to the crisp); the fact that, unlike certain other Olympic venues, it has been completed on budget; and that it has been given the thumbs up by the people who will actually use it — cyclists. It also has a legacy that relates to its original purpose: after the games, it will become a community cycling centre. All of which makes it our architectural
Olympic champion.
