2012 Olympic torch by Barber Osgerby
Having taken a good look at the Olympic torches from the past decade, we can confidently say that Barber Osgerby’s gold design is a class apart from its predecessors. And we are proud to say that ELLE Decoration played a teeny part in its success. Back in 2008, Jay Osgerby and Edward Barber designed our very first trophy for the British Design Awards (3), which was a distinctive three-sided cylinder — a shape that subsequently evolved into this streamlined creation.
