This award, voted for by the public, is a new category for 2009 and recognises the year’s most innovative and stylish decorative surface finish. Chosen from a shortlist of rugs, tiles, wallpapers and one-off projects (as featured in our October 2009 issue), the accolade goes to Linda Florence for her impressive floor decoration at Museums Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery. Inspired by the gallery’s collection of locally made metalwork, the installation features giant pieces of cutlery in flocked vinyl.
